Words for the Wise is designed to assist the classroom teacher in helping their students to develop higher level oral and written vocabulary skills as well as to support comprehension skills development. Words for the Wise will give teachers tools and ideas to teach Latin and Greek  prefixes/suffixes and roots. Participants will leave this class with core knowledge plus new skills for teaching vocabulary and a repertoire of strategies. Words for the Wise content is most applicable for grades 3 – 12, but knowledge of Latin and Greek can begin as early as pre-school.
