Comprehension: Helping Students Remember What They Read provides teachers with the knowledge, skills, and activities necessary to help their students develop higher level reasoning skills. Comprehension strategies such as: building background knowledge, inferencing, predicting, finding the main idea , building vocabulary, and comprehension monitoring will be covered at length. Instruction will also include information on informal assessments for identification of students with reading comprehension problems.
