Early Literacy must be taken as a prerequisite to Focus on Phonics.

Focus on Phonics is designed to teach phoneme to grapheme correspondence, rules, spelling generalizations, and syllabication. Focus on Phonics provides teachers with the knowledge and strategies to effectively teach sound-symbol relationship, the rules that govern our language and the explicit, systematic way to instruct.

The required book for this class is included in the cost of the course.

The location will be in the Combee Elementary Complex upstairs in classroom #210.

There are 2 areas that can be used for parking:

1. Spaces in front of the elementary building (Combee Elementary Complex # 20 on the campus map)
2. Spaces adjacent to the elementary playground

The easiest way to enter campus and get to the parking area is to enter the Oakbrook entrance and follow Pike Lane. At the stop sign, take a left. The Combee Elementary Complex is the third building on the right.
